Was Scotty in the series from the beginning do you know? I do watch out for him in the background in the earlier EPs, but the first time I spot him is in USO Down. It's great that the series used the same background characters so much, made it feel even more real because of it.
The ribbons I think that at least Ru and Taylor had for sure we're the Vietnam Service Medal - yellow with three red stripes and green edges, and Republic of Vietnam Ribbon - green and white stripes, because these are the basic ones given to everyone (Percell seems to be missing these in that episode). Percell seems to have Jump Wings. Taylor and Ruiz have their skills badges - rifle, machine gun, pistol for Ruiz, rifle at least for Taylor. I couldn't see for sure but he might have for the M79 blooper too. I will try and work out the colours on the other ribbons Previous Message
Jensen, your right Scotty was interviewed. But from what I remember was that Terence Knox, Scotty's good friend , sat in on the interview and Scotty kept looking at Terry and not at the camera. It was more of Terry and him chatting rather than actually being interviewed. Not good for the dvd. It's been an age since I watched the doc, so he might be in there somewhere. I'll have to take another look.
Here's an EXCLUSIVE for you Jensen,,I've not told anyone this ........ Miguel Nunez Jr. walked in on Terry's interview, stopped it and they had a little catch up , Scotty was sitting in on Terry's interview as well.
As to the second question , I've never got around to going into detail on finding out about the ribbons , I only ever looked at the medals that the guys received.
If you ever get around to researching it , I'd gladly add it to the site. I though that it was out there somewhere on the web, but I've not been able to find it , maybe I was mistaken. Previous Message
Yep I'm here 😀 Can I ask you a couple of questions you may are may not know the answer to. Firstly, I see advertised in places that Scot Snowdon was interviewed for the DVDs (aka RTO Scottie) but unless I'm nuts - which is possible - he's not on there. Was this included in the three season boxset do you know? I got the seasons seperately.
Second question, the ribbons you see on Ruiz's, Taylor's and Percell's uniforms in the episode 'Soldiers' - Have you ever been able to work out what they are? I can give some of them a good guess, but having been 'interested' in Vietnam from my teens Like to know these things.
I was born 1961 so I grew up with it on the TV most of my early life. Previous Message
Hi Jensen, I'm glad you found the button to post a message, sometimes I wonder if anyone's out there! I'm glad you like to visit, I hope your finding your way around , some of its not the most organised.
I'm glad you are finding the episode summaries 'helpful' , and yes some of the dvd's descriptions do leave a little to be desired..
Thanks for posting and come back often Previous Message
Hi Craig! I discovered the 'post a new message' button. I need to thank you again for this site, it nice to have somewhere to come for a 'visit' as it were. Also like to thank you for the episode summaries! I was beginning to think I was going nuts reading the ones on the DVDs (thank God for the real music) which for s few of them seem to have little in common with what a fully happens in the episode. Keep up the good work!!
