: I know that Shang-Chi and Iron Fist used to
: team up quite regularly in Deadly Hands of
: Kung-Fu - and also a Master of Kung Fu
: annual. But have the two faced against one
: another in recent years? This is something I
: would like to see happen in the new Immortal
: Iron Fist series.
:They were forced to fight each other in DHOKF#29 and in a martial arts-only contest, it was a stalemate. It was also VERY clear in that fight that Shang had no prayer against Danny if he used his power. Danny is generally portrayed as being above human capacity (being able to snatch bullets out of the air, shatter steel, ect.) where Shang is not. Also, Danny's total domination over Cat (who is Shang's equal whom Shang was confident that Danny would own) is a strong indication that Danny would have an edge. Obviously, all of this is before Danny's power up, now he should be above Shang Chi by a much greater margin. I find it kind of amusing how many people favor Shang Chi in this one, as if being asian would mean he would be a better martial artist. Not being asian never seemed to make guys like Joe Lewis (whom Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris have said in print was the greatest martial artsit/fighter of all time) or Fedor (PRIDE heavyweight MMA champion and the best MMA fighter to date) inferior as martial artists to their asian counterparts.
