Interesting dilemma, but perhaps there could be a compromise? For insance, if Planeta publishers just hold one or two strictly promotional events for the book where the serious media attend and then separately Ms. Debray could hold a slightly more "lively" event attended by some "personalities" no doubt mentioned in the memoir - for instance, a certain German princess Christine, or perhaps a certain ex-son-in-law Inaki Urdangarin, also inevitably mentioned. The paparazzi would flock to the Debray event! But hey, all news is "good news" when you have a book to promote! Previous Message
The publication of Juan Carlos memmories, with the title "Reconciliacion" has been suspended because of discrepancies between the publisher and Laurence Debray, the author that recorded the interviews with the king that led to the book.
The book was supposed to be published on November the 12th.
Publisher Planeta wanted a low-profile event near the date of the 50th years of Juan Carlos accession to the throne (Nov.22nd).
Laurence Debray wanted a more pompous and glamourous event where she could assume the protagonism, since it is expected that JC will not be present.
Planeta issued a note saying the book will be published this year but does not advance a date.
