On the 1st episode, nothing new apart from the story of Mateo Morral, the anarchist who tried to kill the royal couple on their wedding day.
One of the problems (for me) with recent historic recreations is the total nonconformity of the actors with their characters.
A couple of years ago, I saw the sreies "Isabel la Catolica" and ok, nobody can say what Isabel and Fernando looked like.
Now that we have photos and more accurate paintings, it is different.
Here, Edward VII is ridiculous and Alfonso looks much better than the real.
Dark-haired Ena appears blonde and Emperess Eugenie doesn't convince.
A very slim Beatrice of Battenberg...
The more simillar seems to be Queen Maria-Cristina.
Speaking about the complete absence of crowned heads at the wedding, Maria Cristina says that the british royal family disapproved the marriage (??).
E. VII apparently warned Ena against Alfonso, who he considers being a womaniser "like his father" (it takes one to know the other ) and, at the end of the conversation, he tells Ena "don't think to to run back (to the UK) with your tail between your legs".
Let's wait for the next episode.
What did our spanish posters think of the series ?
