Well, I suppose by this logic the same could apply to these languages as well. The words "consort" and "regnant" do, in fact, have translations. The latter would be "régnant" and "regnante", respectively.
That being said, for the sake of simplicity, Queen Elizabeth II of the UK would likely have been called simply "reine" and "reina" -- assuming that the reader understood the meaning in context.

In Portuguese, "Rainha".
Then you may add Reinante or Consorte , but either D.Maria I and the II and all the King's wives were Rainhas.
