Lord Mountbatten and the Count of Barcelona had a good relationship. It was him who told the CoB that the allied countries would not support the restoration of the monarchy in Spain after WWII.
King Charles and King Felipe have Queen Victoria, King George I of Greece and Prince Alexander of Hesse as common ancestors. Probably King Felipe is the closest related reigning monarch of King Charles .
It's better known that Sofia had a long time relationship with the British royals, from the Greek connection, but I just remembered that the count of Barcelona had served in the British navy and that his mother's English (and Battenberg) background also made him a close relation.
Lord Mountbatten never let the Battenberg connections fall by the wayside.
