"(Paris 15 March) The Infant Don Alfonso, . . . who had long ago filed for divorce against his wife Princess Tomase Julia Mendez, now asked the court to have his wife interned in a lunatic asylum until the decision on this lawsuit had been made. Don Alfonso justifies this request with the fact that his wife attacked him during this Zwift with a poisoned dagger and he only remained uninjured when his chief steward kicked her. Yesterday a court official appeared at the Palais des Infantes to interrogate him and his wife. It is reported that Princess Tomase will be housed in a convent until the court decides on the divorce application."
