My vague and likely flawed understanding of this controversy: Childless Manfredo de Borbón, duque de Hernani (+1979) left his title to a distant cousin, Infanta Margarita, who was invested with the title in 1981. In 1993, the inheritance was revoked in favor of a more proximate relative of Manfredo, Javier Mendez de Vigo, Marqués d’Atarfe. (Javier had all along contested the disposition of the title.) Margarita then appealed the ruling that favored Don Javier. ...How and when did things resolve?
