I doubt she gets compared. Being compared to Stephanie can't be to her disadvantage. The problem is that she married a man she clearly doesn't love, couldn't care less about Monaco, not even having learned the language, not even sings the anthem when everyone else does, and has generally been mean and unwelcoming to Albert's other kids. Additionally, it cannot be that great living there etc. The photos she took with the family are unconvincing, and the kids don't particularly look happy and normal.
And I don't buy for a minute that she has a serious nasal issue that does not allow her to travel to Europe and be treated there. I suspect she has had enough, her husband cannot be that great either, and she hasn't been happy, not even on her wedding day. Best option for her is to just walk away, share custody for 12 more years or so, and go get a normal life.
Everyone who presents the late Princess Grace as a shining example of a beloved Princess of Monaco forgets some things... She also wasn't very fluent in French - even after decades of living in Monaco. She didn't actually feel "at home" there and she wasn't truly the "beloved Princess". If she hadn't died so relatively young and under such tragic circumstances, I doubt she'd become the legend she is today. I once heard an interview with Prince Albert II where he admitted, that he feels more comfortable in talking in English than in French (since within the family, English was the everyday language). And he's the Prince of a francophone country!
As for Princess Charlene - I consider your comment, Sara, as rather rude and harsh. Neither you nor I know the true reasons for the princess's long absence from Monaco, but when I look at the pictures, published by HSH on her Instagram account, I see a woman, who doesn't look healthy at all. I don't want to spread any speculations and my thoughts here, but for me it's obvious, she's not in good health.
I wish her and him and especially the two children all the best and a happy, healthy future.
Plus - Monaco is a great place. It IS great to live there at the Mediterranean coast. Apparently you've never been only near that spot...
