The ceremony with the Podemos ministers is going to be quite interesting.
But the Royal House, wisely, has included the picture of the kind-of-bow on the website.
People do not have to bow, they are free to do so if they want. Greeting the king with a handshake like you would greet anyone else is also perfectly fine and that seems to have been how most attending the ceremony greeted HM.
When the Spanish Royal couple have a receiving line you see variations, some bow or curtsey, others nod their head and there are always those who shake hands. I've never seen either the King or Queen react differently in their facial expressions by one form of greeting to the other. There is of course a difference to greeting those you know well and those you see for the first time but i don't think the Royal Couple are in any way troubled by a handshake instead of a bow/curtsey. What i do find odd is that some ladies curtsey for the King but not the Queen.
I was surprised to see that the new PM was the only one to bow (or curtsey) to the king. Is that normal?
...replied the king when the PM tried to joke with him saying "8 long months for just 10 seconds" (The time of his oath).
Interesting to see the unanimity of the posts to the TV coverage .
The people seem to "adore" the new PM and the "washdisher" always with his sleeves rolled up.
Can´t wait to see him at a state banquet .
Unless they lock him in the kitchen where he seems more at ease.
