Aside from the Duke & Duchess of Aosta, bride & groom, I can identify:
. the Count & Countess of Paris
. the Dowager Duchess of Aosta
. Princess Anna, Duchess of Aosta
. the King & Queen of Italy
. the Duke & Duchess of Braganza
. the Count & Countess of Barcelona
. the Queen Dowager of Bulgaria
. the Prince of Naples
. the Prince of Beira
. the Prince & Princess of Asturias
. the Count of Clermont
. Princess Tereza of Brazil
Both bride and groom were extremely well related to many European Royal Houses.
The groom's mother was an aunt to King Michael of Romania, King Constantine II of the Hellenes and Queen Alexandra of Yugoslavia, as well as a first cousin to Landgrave Philip of Hesse (brother-in-law to King Umberto II of Italy and Queen Giovanna of the Bulgarians) and to Duchess Viktoria Luise of Hanover (grandmother to King Constantine and the then Princess of Asturias) and a first cousin once removed to Prince Ludwig Ferdinand of Prussia.
She was also a first cousin to Princess Olga of Yugoslavia, Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, Princess Sophie of Hanover and the Duke of Edinburgh, as well as a first cousin once removed to Archduchess Helen of Austria and to the Margrave of Baden (a newphew of the Duke of Edinburgh).
The bride was a sister of the future Duchess of Calabria and her elder brother had married a daughter of the Duke of Württemberg (another sister married the Hereditary Duke), while her mother was a sister to the Head of the Brazilian Imperial Family, Petrópolis branch (married to a sister of the Countess of Barcelona) and to the Duchess of Braganza; Prince Michael of Greece was a first cousin to her father.
I wonder if any of these Royal Families (Greece, Romania, Yugoslavia, Prussia, Hesse, Hanover, Austria, Baden, Württemberg, Two Sicilies, Brazil) were represented at this illustrious royal wedding.
Very interesting - thank you for posting.
Found this video from RTP archives.
Interesting to see the attendants 53 years ago.
