However, what puzzles me is that, according to a Wikipedia article, they were excluded from the Bavarian succession. Why? I thought that the father didn't renounce his rights to the German kingdom until 1914, when he remarried with an unequally born second wife. A renunciation under the circumstances should not have removed his sons by his first wife, from the line of succession to the former kingdom (as of 1918). Yet, they are skipped over in favor of their uncle Adalbert and his male-line descendants.
In any case, it seems that Maria Teresa was styled as a Princess of Bavaria, with the qualification of Royal Highness. And it was under her own name -- not "Princess Ferdinand of Bavaria."
