As for the French aspirations of his father the less said about them the better. They fit in with the illusions the Duke of Parma and Piacenza has about the Spanish throne.
The French claims of Louis de Bourbon are the very antithesis of the Spanish claims of Carlos-Xavier de Bourbon-Parme.
Louis' French claims are based on primogeniture. He is the senior legitimate male male-line descendant of Louis XIV of France.
Carlos Xavier is the 38th most senior legitimate male male-line descendant of Louis XIV of France and his grandson Philip V of Spain. His Spanish claims are based on the presumption that the more senior princes are non-dynastic (because of their maternal ancestry) or on the concept that these more senior princes (or their male line ancestors) have been corrupted in blood because they have accepted liberalism.
The basis of these two claims could hardly be more different one from the other.
