The service of investiture was followed by a Buffet lunch attended by some 300 knights and dames and members of their families.
In the evening, by courtesy of Cardinal Ravasi (Bailiff Grand Cross of the Order, President of the Pontifical Council of Culture) and under the patronage of the Pontifical Council, there was a performance of Beethoven’s 9th symphony in the Basilica of Aracoeli, attended by the Duke of Calabria and hisa family, to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Bull Militantis Ecclesiae which recognised and confirmed the Order as a Religious Militray Order and conferred extensive privilegens on the Grand Master, whose office was defined as a family inheritance of the Farnese. In the evening HE the Spanish Ambassador to the Holy See gave a dinner in the Embassy.
The following morning HRH called on HE the Lieutenant Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Fra Giacomo Della Torre, a Bailiff Grand Cross of the Order since 1996; the Hospitaller of the Order, Prince Dominique de la Rochefoucauld-Montbel, a grand cross of justice of the Order, was also present.

Following the investiture Mass, TRH the Dukes of Calabria and Noto were received by the Mayor of Caprarola, who received them at the Farnese Villa, Caprarola, where the Duke of Calabria was made an honorary citizen of Caprarola. The Villa and remaining properties of the Duchy of Castro were sold to the Italian government by the Duke of Calabria’s great-grandfather and the latter’s brothers and sisters in 1941.
