Part of my history studies involved film history and looking at how images can be used to manipulate. As part of that course all the students had to use the same bit of footage but each duo had the task of giving it a complete different context and emotion. You might be surprised how a harmless bit of footage can look sad, joyous, creepy, historic and funny just by the way you present it.
Marie Chantal is not close to Letizia and Felipe. She may meet Sofia more often but does not mean she is a close confident of the Queen.
She has however been married to a man who would like to be the future king of a restored Greek monarchy and her oldest son is his heir. As such she has spent enough time with royals from both reigning and non-reigning dynasties to know that having an opinion on matters is one thing but expressing it in public another.
Marie Chantal is free to have her opinion of Letizia and how she and Felipe raise their daughters. Yet she tweeted her interpretation of something she did not witness and wasn't privy to based on a short bit of footage and lots of media coverage. That does not show a well balanced response of HRH the crown princess of Greece that was Chantal Miller shooting from the gut. So i find it really strange that you have no problem in calling out Letizia on whatever she said that might have hurt her mother-in-law but at the same time you defend Marie-Chantal who certainly made a faux-pas by posting something negative about another Royal.
You claim Letizia is keeping her daughters from their paternal grandmother yet we see the girls interact with Felipe's parents and his mother especially time and time again. This was the first time Leonor herself was not too keen on being held by her grandmother but that hardly can be an issue. Assuming her mother did overreact and said something hurtful to Queen Sofia that is all it was. An overprotective mother not finding the right words to say to her mother-in-law. Unfortunate but you have to put this one incident next to all the times we have seen Sofia and Letizia getting on very well. Yet you seem to prefer to drag in stories from the gossip papers about the eternal battles wives must have with their mothers-in-law. You also don't know anything of the circumstances leading up to the incident yet you have made up your own story of event using lots of unconfirmed stories about the relationship between the two women. I prefer not to judge anyone in the incident because i don't know all the information and don't expect to ever get the full context of the incident.
I do however know what Marie-Chantal did and how that kind of behaviour is viewed by other royals. To put it bluntly Marie-Chantal did a Sarah Fergusson.
