Re: María Zurita's possible pregnancy and the Dukedom of Hernani
Is it unusual for someone of Maria's position in Spanish society to embark on motherhood in this manner, without a spouse? Is it a fair observation that the younger generation of the Spanish Royal Family has had a rocky history with love and marriage? I presume that the marriages of Infantas Maria del Pilar and Margarita were love matches, and were happy, but the notably unhappy marriages of many of the other older members of the family, going back to the nineteenth century, may be having an impact on the ability of the current king's generation to marry happily and remain so. The King himself seems to be a notable exception. Infanta Cristina made a love match, but there are (as we know) other issues that surfaced in that relationship.
: No, she isn't.
