: Well, it is crystal clear that you don't
: live in Catalonia or one of its areas of
: influence and you don't have the slightest
: idea of what is going on here. >R.
As you might know, I live in Lisbon.
But I have a good friend who last year moved to Barcelona.
She is also portuguese, married to a german, and they've been keeping me update on the situation, so I have to refute your idea that I have not the slightest idea of what's happening there.
I have nothing against the catalan independence.
I feel strongly that if a Nation seeks its independence, it shouln't have to raise the flag of colonialism to acceed to independence.
I said and I repeat it, that Catalonia would be a more viable country than dozen of countries that achieved independence from the 60s and that 50 years later are as poor and unprepared as when the became "independent".
"Independent" under brackets because in most cases (specially in Africa) they just changed of master colonizer from western european countries to Russia and China and created a corrupt "elite".
Our former colonies were a pitifull example, as well as your former colony of Equatorial Guiné.
Having said that, I was disappointed by the way Madrid and Barcelona ran "the show".
Madrid and the unforgivable brutality against the independentists, Barcelona with a PM who lost its credibility with all the advances and setbacks.

: Be fair. Removed out of the context, the

: the following example:
: If Belgium was to part into 2 regions
: tomorrow, I am quite sure that Flemish

: It is just natural that in a country with

: And social fractures must not be always
