: To get back to our main subject of discussion.
: While those outside have been disappointed
: by the King in this situation I want to
: raise a few points.
: Is the King fleunt in Catalan and Basque,
: did he spend time in the region's learning
: the languages. I appreciate this might not
: have seemed vital in 1975 but surely that
: has changed since then. Is the Princess
: being raised to be fluent in Catalan and
: Basque? What is the etiquette for royal
: speeches etc in Catalonia and the Basque
: country? A mixture of the national and
: regional languages? I rarely think other
: European royal families have much to learn
: from the British but I think the sensitivity
: to speech in French in Quebec is worth
Is this an issue in the UK? Does the Queen or any other member of the RF speak Welsh, Scottish Gaelic, Scots, Irish, manx or Cornish? Or do they deliver speechs in the regional languages when in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Cornwall?..
: Also beyond his time spent abroad for
: education has the King spent any significant
: part of his life anywhere but Madrid?
