Both branches returned.

The eldest branch (whose head D.Pedro had forfeited his rights) got the Petrópolis properties, but most of them returned to Europe: D.Pedro came to live in Spain, Pss Isabel married the Count of Paris, and followed him to Belgium, Morocco, Portugal and finally France; Pss D.Maria Francisca married the Duke of Bragança and lived in Switzerland before settling in Portugal. Pss Teresa lived in several countries, Austria, Spain and finally Portugal.
Pr. D.João was the only who settled in Brazil since 1935, more than a decade after the end of the banning law.

The younger branch lived (D.Luis and his family) mostly in Brazil after WW2, and they still do.
All lived there except the 3 younger daughters - Pss Eleonora married the Prince of Ligne and lives in Belgium, and the youngest twins D.Maria Teresa and D.Maria Gabriela also live in Europe.

Pr.Luis Felipe, eldest son of Pr.Eudes, embraced a political carrer and is a MP.
