In several countries the former reigning dynasties have a semi-official position (Portugal, Romania, Montenegro and possibly Serbia). However that does not mean those nations are about to restore the monarchy. In both Romania and Montenegro the line of succession is in question. The Romanian curatrix of the crown has her sister princess Elena as heiress. Elena's firstborn is her son Nicholas. He was removed from the line of succession by his grandfather yet he is the one with two children from his marriage and lives in the country unlike his sister or his aunt and first cousin.
In Montenegro crown prince Nicola has a son, but that son has one or two daughters from his marriage to a woman who now is at an age that we cannot expect a son. With the royal constitution only looking at a male line succession there is no heir beyond prince Boris. Previous Message
Does anyone have information regarding support for the monarchy to be restored in these European coun- tries? Portugal, Italy, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia, Georgia, and even Turkey.
