Much has been said that the British royals were greatly influenced by Prince Philip. True, but the same thing happened to the family during the reign of Queen Victoria. Edward, soon to become Edward VII, married the Danish princess Alexandra. With that marriage, their children which included King George V were half Danish. And then down to 1947 and Princess Elizabeth marries Prince Philip, himself of Danish descent. I think we can say that King Charles, sister Anne and brothers Andrew and Edward are half Danish? Are there earlier instances of Danish royals entering the British reigning families?
