The House of Orange reigns over the Netherlands and has from the inception of the kingdom. The reign in England and Scotland was during the tenure of William III and Mary II. After their deaths the Stuarts assume the throne as there were no Orange heirs. The House of Orange "lost" part of their kingdom where Flanders became Belgium and a monarch from another dynasty was elected king. The House of Orange also were rulers of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Their tenure there ended about the time that Queen Wilhelmina succeeded her father as monarch.
