IIRC, the Rupened rulers of Lesser Armenia (Cilicia), who were a stirp of the Bragatids, intermarried with the Crusader dynasties and were, eventually, succeeded in their kingship by a Lusignan descendent.
Yes that was / is the legend, but no precise link to the Bagratids has ever been established. The Roupenides were more likely just another case of a newly powerful clan asserting links to antiquity in order to veil their obscure origins and enhance their legitimacy.
