William III was of the House of Orange but many historians just lump him in with the Stuarts, his mother, Princess Mary, was a Stuart.
Queen Anne, who was the last of the House of Stuart, reigned as Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland until 1707 when the Parliaments of England and Scotland were united forming The Kingdom of Great Britain. Her title was changed to Queen of Great Britain and Ireland at that time.
That was when the House of Stuart ended it's reign over Great Britain. The House of Hanover began it's reign over Great Britain in August of 1714 with the accession of the Elector of Hanover on the throne of Great Britain as King George I.
It was my assumption that those men sitting on the throne of Scotland were native Scots- Robert Bruce, Duncan, etc.. English kings or Kings of England began sitting on the throne of Scotland after the end of the Stuart reigns beginning with William of Orange and then on to the Hanovers.
