Consent was a moot point in the UK, since the 1701 Act of Settlement applied. Beatrice forfeited her succession rights by marring a Catholic. In fact, the marriage wasn't originally dynastic in Spain, either, since King Alfonso XIII initially withheld consent. He later relented, however; and the union was eventually recognized.
1909: Beatrice of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (and Edinburgh) and the Infante Alfonso, Duke of Galliera. If I remember correctly, Bea did not seek King Edward VII's permission and, therefore, the marriage was not valid in UK law.
