A recent item stated that until Queen Mary, consort of George V, the Queens consort usually were crowned with the crown of Mary of Modena. Mary had her own crown created. Yet, a picture of Queen Alexandra shows her in her coronation regalia and the crown on her head seems to be one created expressly for the event.
