Is 18 the age for this in most European countries, regardless of whether they are governed by hereditary monarchies? I believe that in Sweden, the minimum age for ascending the throne without a regency used to be 21, but got raised to 25. But is 18 still the age of adulthood with respect to other issues (e.g. voting, marrying without parental consent, etc.)?
18 is the age of adulthood, except when it comes to buying alcohol. The minimum age for ascending the throne without a regency is 18 since a new Constitution was adopted in 1975.
