It is very complex; do not rely upon it as evidence of infidelity, even if you think it presents a strong case. Every talks about brown vs blue eyes but seem to forget about green, hazel, grey, etc...
I understand that DNA testing has confirmed a straight patrilineal descent from King Louis XIII of France and Prince Sixte of Bourbon-Parma.
Some time ago, I mentioned the rumor that King Maximilian II of Bavaria was not the biological father of Kings Ludwig II and Otto (perhaps this would explain his abusive behavior toward them). The source was a gossipy comment by a servant in the movie SOPHIE, SISSI'S LITTLE SISTER (according to which Queen Marie confessed her adultery).
Regardless of the identity of the biological father(s), I was wondering if anybody knew the eye color of King Maximilian II. There don't seem to be many biographies of him in the English language; but the historical record has it that the queen had blue eyes. Since her elder son ("Mad Ludwig of Bavaria") had brown eyes, if her husband also had blue eyes like herself, that would be a strong indication of infidelity on the part of Marie.
Like her namesake, Queen Marie of Romania, another wife who likely cuckolded her husband ...
Does anybody know?
