Jutta of Mecklenburg-Strelitz married crown prince Danilo of Montenegro and would have become the country's king if her father-in-law had not lost his throne to his son-in-law Peter I of Serbia/Yugoslavia.
Continuing with the thread on notable alliances involving the German houses, this grand duchy produced (among others) Duchess Charlotte, who became the queen of Great Britain as the consort of King George III; her niece and namesake, Duchess Charlotte Georgine, married Duke Friedrich of Saxe-Hildburghausen and became the mother of Queen Therese of Bavaria (consort of King Ludwig I) and grandmother of Grand Duke Adolphe of Luxembourg.
Duchess Luise (her sister, like herself a daughter of Grand Duke Karl II) became the famous "Prussian madonna" as the queen consort of King Friedrich Wilhelm III; Duchess Friederike (another sister) married, as her third husband, the future King Ernst August of Hanover.
Any other notable matrimonial unions with this house?
