The Belgian constitution demands that both chambers of parliament must come together within ten days of the death of the monarch to swear in the new monarch. Is that monarch a minor one individual has to be sworn in as regent but they don't set a time for that. I assume it will be the same 10 days.

Do you know how long it took for Albert II to be proclaimed king, and by whom? The only thing I know is that the Belgian people did not shout "The king is dead, long live the king" -- notwithstanding the fact that regardless of who Baudouin's successor was, the new occupant of the throne was to be a king.
