Tsar Alexander III wanted his son Nicholas (II) to marry Hélène. Is it known if the CoP would object to his daughter's conversion to Orthodoxy ?
Were there any advances in that marriage project or Nicky's enfatuation to Alix prevented any slight advances ? Previous Message
I know that plenty of Protestant royals have converted to Roman Catholicism or Eastern Orthodoxy. Also, some Christians raised Orthodox have converted to Catholicism (e.g. Queen Elena of Italy and Queen Sofia of Spain). In fact, there has even been a Catholic who converted to Protestantism (e.g. Princess Elisabeth of Bavaria, who became the queen of Prussia).
Have there been any Catholic royals who converted to Orthodoxy? Or Orthodox royals who joined any of the Protestant churches?
I want to restrict discussion only to those born royal: Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece, for instance, doesn't count, despite having converted to Greek Orthodoxy after having been raised as a Roman Catholic. After all, she was born a commoner.
