Well ... he was not the only morganaut who accepted his not having succession rights. As of his day, descendants of unrecognized marriages largely accepted their situation. But over the years, things changed: the morganatic descendants of the Romanovs and Saxony do not accept their status. But then, one is talking of non-reigning houses ... so the rules and regulations are less clear and easy to enforce ...
