Well, chaos occurred later on, anyway, despite momentary peace after the succession of King Henry II Plantagenet. Look what happened when King Henry IV Lancaster assumed the throne, by virtue of agnatic descent from King Edward III -- despite the throne earlier having passed through two females (Adela and Matilda, the latter having won the battle in the end) ...
