Re: another monarchy?

I agree that Nicholas would be the natural choice, or possibly Elena with Nicolas as her heir.
Officially first her sister Elena, then Elena's daughter as her older brother Nicholas has been excluded.
Elena and her daughter do not live in Romania and only occasionally visit there while Nicholas lives there. Im hoping Margareta will change her mind in years to come to re-instate her nephew as her successor as that would be most reasonable and helpful for the dynasty. Maybe if he and his wife have made a success of their marriage and have several children.
King Michael only had 5 grandchildren and two of them were excluded with their mother. A third one, Nicholas, was first presented as the intended heir but after he made a girl pregnant out of wedlock he was dropped from the line of succession. There may have been more to it but that is unclear. The role of Margareta's husband also has been called into question. He is not universally liked.
The only two remaining granddaughters in the line of king Michael's succession have not shown much interest in moving to Romania and forging a life for themselves in the country like Margareta did and Nicholas has done.
I wonder what the line of succession to that position is.
Ever since her father died Margarita has been styled as Custodian of the Crown and Her Majesty on official events in Romania.
On May 10, the Prime Minister of Romania referred to Margaret as "your Majesty, the custodian of the crown". Is he saying the Romania is in some way a monarchy? How does Margaret place among the reigning royals of Europe?
Since Romania is still a republic, Margareta, chose not to use the title of Queen and is instead Custodian of the Romanian Crown, a title that Michael I offered her. She has in the past attended and addressed the Parliament of Romania. The Speaker of the House is a pro-royalist and there is support in the parliament. Things are moving slowly. Whether the monarchy returns or things move to Margareta becoming some form of head of state and still using her current title. Who knows. She has made several visits to other countries and has been greeted by the monarchs there. She's met her namesake Queen Margarethe of Denmark.
