Well ... similarly, until the Letters Patent of 1917, members of the royal house of Hanover continued styling themselves as princes and princesses of the UK. In this, they were adopting the German custom, whereby titles and styles are unlimited in dynastic male lines. King George V put an end to this, of course.
So what this meant was that Queen Frederika of the Hellenes was briefly a princess of the United Kingdom (as she was born in 1917) ...
in Belgiun the titles of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha were no longer used after 1918, although no royal decree confirmed this - just king Leopold III used them in his second marriage to Lilian Baels
