The Coburgs did indeed branch out -- perhaps not as extensively as the Bourbons or the Habsburgs.
If Pss Elisabeth of Belgium would marry Pr. Beltran of Bulgaria, 2nd son of the late Cr.Prince Kardam, it could be considered an in-house union as both belong to the large house of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
Same for Lady Amelia Windsor and Pr. Alexander Philip of Sx.Coburg-Gotha.
And how would you rule unions between the royal house of Saxony and the ducal houses of Sx.C.Gotha, Sx-Weimar, Sx-Meiningen, Sx-Altenburg, and all the othe extinct ducal branches ?
Pr. Friederich-Ernst of Sx-Meiningen (1935-2004) married 2nd Pss Beatrice of Sx.Coburg-Gotha (b. 1951)
Same for the Hesses: Hesse-Kassel, Hesse-Darmstadt, Hesse-Philippstal, etc.
I guess the most recent might have been the union between Pr.Louis of Battenberg and Pss Victoria of H-Darmstadt
