On October 1910 the president of Brazil, Marechal Hermes da Fonseca (elected but not yet inaugurated) was paying a visit to Portugal and on the night of Oct 4th he was offered a dinner gala by D. King Manuel II.
That night the republican revolution burst out, the monarchy was deposed and the brazilian president, who had been welcomed by a king, was bid farewll by the republican authorities.
Is there any other case of a King/President welcomed by one regime and bid farewell by another ?
