I know that King Henry VIII of England was the third of four husbands of Catherine Parr (the wife who survived him). My question is: what other kings in European history had queens who had previously been married to other men?
It could easily have been Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent -- fourth son of King George III of Great Britain. After all, the duchess had previously been the wife of the prince of Leiningen. Had her second husband lived, he most certainly would have succeeded to the throne as King Edward VII and she would have been his queen.
