In Portugal, during king D.Manuel II's reign there were two dowger queens, his mother Queen Amélia and grand mother Queen Maria Pia.

When Elisabeth II succeeded to the throne, there were 2 dowager queens, Queen Mary and Queen Elisabeth

Belgium recently had 3 queens: one consorte Queen (Mathilde) onde dowager (Fabiola) and one abdicated-consorte (Paola).

During Constantine II reign, there was his mother dowager queen Friederike and (not a queen) but king Alexander's widow Pss Aspasia
