On what concerns George VI it offers no doubt that WW2 concurred to weaken his health a lot.
Should Edward VIII have remained king and died in 1972 as he did, would George Duke of York would have lived a longer and peaceful life and outlived his (childless) brother to become king ?
George died of lunger cancer and other diseases such as arteriosclerosis and Buerger's disease (Wikipedia).
Would these develop later, never, who knows ?

I don't know what you mean by making a prophecy early on.
Unless he was severely ill and everybody assumed he would noy outlive his father, one would only prophetize he would never be king ... unti after his untimely death.
