So they really are Princes/ses of Battenberg? (I ignore of course that Germany has abolished all noble titles.)
As can be seen by these very documents, they never renounced their titles. They merely relinquished the use of them in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (for which they received permission by royal warrant).

We all know that the Princes of Battenberg (a morganatic branch of Hessen) renounced their titles and were given British peerages. But I wonder if it was a formal renunciation, or if they just stopped using their German titles (who, BTW, were abolished in Germany after the first world war).
Would it be possible (even though highly unlikely) that the Marquess of Milford Haven, to start using the title Prince of Battenberg?
