Thank you for posting this -- I did not realize that Marella Agnelli was still alive! Previous Message
1. On February 27th died Marella Caracciolo di Castagnetto , aged 92.
She was the daughter of Pr.Filippo Caracciolo, Prince of Castagnetto, 3rd Duke of Melito and hereditary patrician of Naples.
In 1953 she married the motorcar "king" Gianni Agnelli, from the family who founded Fiat and later controlled and owned Lancia, Ferrari, Maserati, Autobianchi and Alfa Romeo.
She was an art collector, socialite, style icon, writer, landscape designer and garden designer.
Later she became a remarkable photographer, working for Vogue.
Her work as a designer granted her an award of "Product Design Award of the Resources Council Inc." in 1977.
Extremely elegant, together with her husband Gianni, she was a well-known member of the jet-set and the dolce vita.
She was friends with Truman Capote who included her in his circle of "swans" – wealthy, stylish, and well-married women friends whose company he adored because they "had created themselves, as he had done", and "had stories to tell" (from Wikipedia).

Agnelli´s royal ancestry can be traved to the electors of Saxony, thus the inclusion on this board.
