As I noted elsewhere (because I should have read all the posts in the thread first; sorry!), Queen Victoria pressured her young daughter to continue to use the title Princess Royal in addition to her Prussian title in the early years of her marriage. This caused a great deal of ill-will at the Prussian court and among the public, and helped create the public narrative that she was more "English" than Prussian, which would damage her politically throughout the rest of her life.
