But I presume that date is according to the Julian calendar. Sweden didn't adopt the Gregorian calendar until 1753. If I'm not mistaken, the Catholic states within the HRE adopted it in 1583 and the Protestant states in 1700.
Does this mean that in e.g. Austria, the battle is considered to have taken place on 16 November? Lützen is situated in a part of Germany that I presume still used the Julian calendar, but the Imperial Court must have used the Gregorian calendar.
