: Prince marries without the King's permission
: and loses the title Prince of Greece, could
: he still keep the title Prince of Denmark?
: Greek Princes are not obliged to ask the
: Danish Sovereign about consent for marriage.
This has been discussed with little agreement among us royalty enthusiasts for a long time. My personal opinion is that that the Greek King has no say on the Danish title and that once a Danish prince has been given permission to settle abroad that he may transmit his title in the male line forever without seeking permission to marry from the Danish sovereign.
Others say that the title "Prince of Greece and Denmark" is one princely title, which is utterly silly since the king and the crown prince each have the separate Danish princely title. Some of those people point to Michael's daughters as an example of that. I believe they are princesses of Denmark.
