And a lot of Emma von Waldeck-Pyrmont genes…
Beautiful new pictures of the Princess of Orange in an historic setting. Especially if you know that the "other" Princess Amalia (1602-1675) is looking down on her.
Thank you, Robert, for putting one of the new portraits on top of this board.
Today is the 18th birthday of HRH the Princess of Orange. From this day she is officially an adult and would have to step in as regent in the case her father would be indisposed for longer than a few weeks.
In a small book that appeared for this occasion the princess told the author (comedian Claudia de Breij) that in the unlikely case she would have to succeed at such a young age she would ask her mother to step in as regent for a few years.
The RVD (the official press agency of the Dutch State) has released new photo's of the princess made in the Orangehall of Huis ten Bosch Palace.
Officially HRH would be entitled to a yearly income as heiress to the crown but Amalia herself has written to the PM that she would feel uncomfortable accepting the money at this stage when she does not feel she is doing much to earn it. At 17 she graduated cum laude from the Christelijk Lyceum in The Hague and currently she is filling in a gap year before starting her studies next year. So far we do not know what she will study.
