Sometimes, when a couple has given up the efforts to ever having a child the natural way, a woman gets pregnant. (I have personal experience of that.) BTW, when is the baby due?
I imagine that after 7 years of marriage they were feeling under some pressure to produce a heir, even if nobody around them were insensitive enough to comment. Perhaps a change of scene away from Luxembourg, where they could live anonymously, allowed them to relax and helped a baby come along. Or perhaps they had fertility treatment in London, which may have drawn attention if they were attending hospital at home.
Stephanie said to reporters she was happy the three of them (Guillaume, herself and baby) were installed at Fischbach Castle. That seems to indicate that only one baby is expected. She is in her fourth month so i doubt there is going to be a surprise multiple birth.
In Guillaume's family multiple births do occur naturally so even if they were to have twins in the future it would not necessarily confirm medical assistance.
Guillaume and Stephanie are for 7 years in a childless marriage.
It is not unthinkable that they've undergone some fertility treatment.
So why not expect a Jean, a Henri and a Charlotte all together ?
