Remains the fact that wearing a blazer, pants, shirt and tie do not make for a proper outfit for a Prince of Belgium with a state income to attend the funeral of the late Cardinal.
I took another look at Laurent's glasses in picture at top of page and I think they are heavily tinted, not sunglasses. That's how mine looks. You can still see his eyes. So my guess is he has an eye problem.
People who suffer from various eye conditions cannot tolerate bright or florescent lights. They have to wear heavily tinted glasses inside or even sunglasses. Myself, I have to wear heavily tinted glasses that look like sunglasses. I'm conscious of how that looks - especially inside a church. But I have no choice, otherwise, I see all sorts of dots, lines, auras, etc. and it creates strain on sensitive eyes. I don't know if that's Laurent's problem, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has some eye issues - sometimes brought about by medications.
Once again prince Laurent displays the Wittelsbach eccentricity that came into the family through his great-grandmother.
Wearing sunglasses in church is not exactly normal behaviour and i very much doubt that the prince does not own or could afford a black suit, tie and white shirt.
Thank you Eric VdV for posting this!
I would like to add a few more photos here too;
