I often think why Leopold was so criticized for remanining in Belgium while Christian X of Dk was so popular because he stayed at home (unlike the NL, Norway or Lux sovereigns) and shared the people's drama of the occupation.
Did Leopold really had the chance to escape abroad ?
Was the decision of remaining a consensual choice among the RF ?
