Five years later, that hot new laptop has the letters worn off half the keys, I'm split with hubby for half that time, and finances are pretty grim again. And Gor means more than ever.
Does Gor mean more than ever BECAUSE the world has turned over on me again? It's possible. But correlation is not causation. It might well be that there is a causal relationship here; but I prefer to think otherwise.
I think it goes to technological multi-player gaming having passed through our Gor. Ten years ago, our Gor was on the leading edge of using techonolgy to facilitate multi-player roleplaying. Today, we're a primative backwater. Ten years ago, our Gor was one of the coolest places to met people for hot cybering and more. Today, there are a million better ways to get that.
So, the change, I think, is environmental. The people here now, for the most part, love Gor and love roleplay. The surge of people who didn't belong here has passed, and once again, Gor is for the Goreans.
